Odessa celebrated Ukraine’s Independence Day

On August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day was celebrated in Odessa. PICTURE STORY.

On August 23 and 24, “Embroidery Festival” dedicated to the 19th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence was taking place at Odessa’s Primorskiy Boulevard.
On August 23, “Blue-and-yellow Ukraine” Photo Exhibition and folk masters fair were held at Primorskiy Boulevard.
Raising of 19 m long Ukrainian flag over Potyomkin Stair aimed at honoring the anniversary of Independence became the main event of the celebration. It was raised by 40 volunteers, and then the hymn of Ukraine was festively sung by the visitors of the action.
On top of that the following measures were held at the Independence Day:
-         “Let’s Build Ukraine!” art flash mob;
-         speed curd eating championship;
-         folk arts master classes;
-         Cossack fun;
-         Independence Day party;
-         “With Ukraine in Heart” amateur and arts masters concert etc.
